First, you need to get out of debt!
However, with multiple debts - credit card, line of credit, mortgage, taxes, cell phones - the whole process can be pretty discouraging.
I strongly believe that if you are working for your money, it should be working for you. And I am not talking about using each dollar twice to avoid Debt Collectors!
Take back control by creating an overview of all the debts (no hiding!)
Create a plan and automate it - making it painless, effortless and already done when you wake up on payday
Every time we clear a debt, we celebrate. Every. Single. Time.

I left home at 16 and started slowly going into debt, with more bills to pay than I had money coming in. A few years after, I started university - and signed up for the life changing debt that came with a student loan.
After graduation, I was confronted with interest payments that made me break out into hives! I decided it had taken me 4.5 years to get into the biggest debt of my life (thus far), it would take me no longer than 4.5 years to get out! I focused on paying off my student loan, and even managed to build some savings along the way.
It took determination and crystal clear goals to achieve success...and even put some money aside.

People had already started noticing that I was able to live a very good life and that my debt was melting away. They asked me to share. So I did! Sitting at the kitchen table, I would run through their finances and spending habits. We would identify leaks and I would share my tips. Some took those tips and advice and changed their world. Others didn’t follow through, and I thought: if only I could invest for them, I could make a plan and set it in motion.
In 2017, I found a company that would train me, help me get licensed as a financial advisor and not make me give up my 15 year career in the Canadian Federal Government. It also allowed me to help people with their finances - at the kitchen table!
The rigid compliance rules in the finance industry, while essential, did not allow me to use my voice, however, so I let my licenses go in 2021. I now focus on helping families rethink personal finance and achieve change that will echo through generations: not just helping people get out of debt, but changing the landscape for themselves and their children's children.
